On Sunday August 29 at 2:00 pm, Alice and Ted Armen have invited the Montague Backyard Gardeners and Transition towns to visit their mini farm and garden at 68 Main St, Montague Center.Alice and Ted were recently featured in a front page story in the Greenfield Recorder describing what they were able to do on one acre of land with goats, chickens, berries, fruits, and of course, vegetables. - I would like to be joined together in community in my neighborhood, working to design and create the life and society that we want ,instead of being subject to the society that exists.

- I'm spreading the word, creating events, and working on our new face book page - we have almost 80 friends in only a couple days!

I REALLY would love to come to the goat´s event, since it is something I have been dreaming about...and I am considering doing a "how to make goat cheeese"-course in Sweden. Do you know if it is at all possible to get to your place by public transport (from N-H)? I don´t have a car, nor a licence, of which I am a bit proud I must admit :o)

Welcome to the Transition Massachusetts networking and information site, and thanks for already adding an announcement about an exciting event. If it were not for the Bill McKibben talk later the same day in Lexington, I would consider coming to tour the garden.
As a member of the Transition Montague Initiating Group, you should consider creating a group page on this site. Other local members can join this site and your group: then the "Send Message to Group" feature gives everyone a great tool to communicate within your local community. Posting discussions in your Group Forum about local activities is an easy way to let others around the state know what you are doing. The best model for this is Transition Putney. I will be glad to help you in any way set up a similar system.
Another great benefit of membership on this statewide site is the exchange of ideas found in the Forum. I encourage everyone to follow these discussions and to participate. To learn how to most easily follow discussions on the Forum, please read my post (in the Forum) titled "Let's Strengthen our Transition Massachusetts community." Click here to view that post directly. Implementing the simple changes described will make it easier to follow and participate in the conversations on this site.
