Sarah Buie is now a member of Transition Massachusetts
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Have just worked with Tina Clarke and other TT members on an event here at Clark University, highlighting the work of Transition Towns.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I am often creating educational programs to raise the level of awareness around climate change and sustainability in my roles at Clark University (Director of the Higgins School of Humanities and the Difficult Dialogues initiative); I believe that the values, skills and insights embodied in the Transition movement are critical to us at the time. I also appreciate the full integration of dialogue practice throughout the initiative.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
Welcome to the Transition Massachusetts social networking site. It was wonderful to meet you last week and participate in the outstanding Symposium series you direct. Thanks for everything you do.
I see you are already a 'friend' of Nicole Zimmerman; you should also join the Clark University Interest Group she created on this site. The main benefit, I think, of membership on this site is to participate in the discussions in the Forum (see next paragraph). Belonging to one or more groups allows direct messaging to all other group members (essentially group email).
As site administrator I encourage everyone to participate in the exchange of ideas found in the Forum. To learn how to most easily follow discussions on the Forum, please read my post (in the Forum) titled "Let's Strengthen our Transition Massachusetts community." Click here to view that post directly. Implementing the simple changes described will make it easier to follow and participate in the conversations on this site, thereby nurturing our growing statewide Transition community.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
