April 28, 2010 from 6pm to 7pm
We are receiving a flush of sign ups for our current courses, but due to the large array of courses we have small numbers enrolled for some specific courses. In an effort to boost enrollment and be able to run every course we would like to offer a significant discount for groups. For each person you refer to a workshop you, and they, will receive 10% off, up to 30% off. So, if you encourage 2 friends to join you in a course you all can take the course for 20% off publicized cost. You can view…See More

Yes, as a matter of fact.  I have a place in the suburbs in Belchertown, MA that I have a 5 year plan for.  I'm starting with the basic site work this comming spring.  I'm getting permits now.  Next year will be air sealing and insluation, the year after that hot water, and the year after that PV.  My goal in the end will be to have a suburban house that is zero energy and permaculture.  I'm hoping that when others see my example, it may spark some interest.

Hi Ben:

My name is Joe Audette.  I've just joined, and I spotted you as I was looking through member lists.  Most people in these groups seem to focus on one area - normally the area that they are familiar with - permaculture, building science, or whatever.  However, you seem to understand a balanced approach, which is the only way our trip down the energy slide can be successful.

The word "Whole" in your blog caught my eye because this is my philosiphy exactly.  These homesteads are integrated systems, and as such the pieces must work together to support eachother.   Most importantly, they need to be deveoped together to achieve this integration.  It seems that this is lost in most of the transition participants I know.

I would like to set you up as a friend - that is as soon as I figure out how to do that.
