Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I should have saved everything that I just wrote when I joined transitionus.org :)

I am just getting involved with sustainable living ideas by getting involved in a friends' project to develop eco-communities in my area.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I don't think of it as "identifying" as much as becoming more aware of the realities of our global issues related to "Peak Oil" and other serious environmental concerns. I am tired of 'talking the talk' and not 'walking the walk'. I am a teacher and a mother and am sick and tired of informing people and not doing anything myself.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
Many things-spread the word to friends-invite members to come to our informational meeting on "5-2-1" communities (newearthliving.net)

Start working with our local communities and students to inform and then develop and implement solutions on a local level.

Hi Barbara,

Welcome to the Transition Massachusetts networking and information site. Emphasis on a local approach fits well with the Transition model. As a resident of Central Massachusetts, and to connect with people in your area, you may want to join the Transition Town Worcester Initiative group on this site.

Another great benefit of membership on this statewide site is the exchange of ideas found in the Forum. As site administrator I encourage everyone to follow these discussions and to participate. To learn how to most easily follow discussions on the Forum, please read my post (in the Forum) titled "Let's Strengthen our Transition Massachusetts community." Click here to view that post directly. Implementing the simple changes described will make it easier to follow and participate in the conversations on this site.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
