Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I'm lobbying for clean energy with Students for a Just and Stable Future and promoting community gardening in Framingham. I'm also hoping to support mass-weatherize-ing and finance reform.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
In what ways *don't* I identify with Transition?

It's positive, ecologically responsible, long-term thinking, sustainable, community-oriented, and nonviolent.

Why am I interested? Because I care about all the Earth's living beings and without Transition, they will suffer more.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out right now. I imagine part of it is supporting related community groups in Framingham as well as deriving an income from work which is part of "the solution." Maybe I'll initiate the Transition Framingham group...

Hi Conrad,

I think we meet at a meetup about peak oil or something related in cambridge. I came to that meeting with Marion and we've been in touch since about community gardens in Framingham.

I find that I feel either worried or lost when it comes to transition though. Where do I start? What do I do?
And then what's the most efficient use of my time (which project is most critical)?

Maybe we could schedule a phone call?

Hi Alex,

Welcome to the Transition Massachusetts social networking site. There is not yet a Framingham group on this site, but I know of at least one member of this site who has been exploring options for promoting Transition in Framingham. Marion deLaubenfels organized an excellent event last summer at the public library attended by 30 people or more. She has been silent recently, but I encourage you to contact her. You can leave a comment on her Wall.

Another great benefit of membership on this site is the exchange of ideas found in the Forum. As site administrator I encourage everyone to follow these discussions and to participate. To learn how to most easily follow discussions on the Forum, please read my post (in the Forum) titled "Let's Strengthen our Transition Massachusetts community." Click here to view that post directly. Implementing the simple changes described will make it easier to follow and participate in the conversations on this site.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Conrad
