Hi folks! I am new to this Transition Ning site and excited to get to know this community better. I wanted to let everyone know about a webinar I recently helped produce for my job as the Resilience Circle Coordinator at the Institute for Policy Studies. Resilience Circles are small groups of 10 - 20 people who meet to build community, learn, engage in mutual aid, and take social action. In Transition parlance, they are small "home groups" or "heart and soul groups."
We recently did a webinar with Transition US about how the Transition approach fits with the Resilience Circle approach. You can watch a recording of it here:
http://localcircles.org/2011/07/17/transition-initiatives-resilienc...
The webinar features Carolyne Stayton, director of Transition US, Chuck Collins, and Conrad Willeman of Transition Newburyport. In Newburyport Conrad co-faciliated a Resilience Circle which they called a "Seacoast Community Empowerment Circle."
Thanks! Please let me know if you'd like to learn more about Resilience Circles (sbyrnes.ips@gmail.com, 617.477.8630x307).

There is much to be done, but many have already started the work!

Kaat - invite me in!
