Because I'll be able to edit this opener, I plan to report here on each open house I host... and I suppose I could paste in reports from other hosts if/when.

We had a good number of guests... 3 -- and they can cook! None of them knew each other and one was new to me, too, at least in person. Time flew.
Sitting around a table, we shared about foods, recent experiences and learning, job hunting strategies, my house and property, Putney, Vermont and family. One departed to attend a birthday party of a relative turning 100. Another departed to investigate a transition-y firm he'd discovered.
I'd like to offer this monthly, but have doubts about December. I'm on the fence about it.

I had a good number of guests...8 -- and they, too, can cook! Only two of us attended the November open house. Most of us had never met. There were two shifts and 6:30 was not the end time.
Sitting around one table or another, still few enough to have one discussion rather than various conversations, we got acquainted and explored a variety of transition topics. One of us aims to start farming, two of us are working on a weekend retreat invitation and process, two are looking for promising next steps toward sustainability in which to invest their attention, time and energy, and two are raising a daughter.
I'll choose a Feburary date soon. It's tricky because of travel plans.
